Strange things were happening in my house. The things went missing never to be seen again. A Tupperware lid, the building blocks and small cloth items. Things turned ugly, when my old mobile went missing from the bedside drawer. All hell broke loose and so was launched ‘Mission Treasure Hunt’ in the household.
All the cabinets, drawers were shuffled. Baby M’s toys were thoroughly searched. Under the table, behind the bed, all the balconies – everything was part of the scrutiny. But, to no avail! Weeks passed and the search was abandoned.
Last week, guests were visiting and I went on a cleaning spree. The house was spic and span. All the corners shining and even the vases were in queue to be cleaned. That’s when the unexpected happen. All the lost items cam out of the flower vase one by one.
Soon, we realized what had happened. Baby M has been playfully putting everything he likes in the vase. Once sent down the vase, he could not retrieve it and hence, it was forgotten and lost! Finally the thief was caught and all fishy events came to an end. 🙂
Did your child also have a secret hideout place? What was it? I would love to hear cute anecdotes of your lives in comments.

Ramblings of a corporate mother as I juggle both motherhood & work
I so enjoyed reading this post, Yes my little one hides everything behind sofa cushions, specially T.V remote so thay we don’t change her cartoon channel 😂
Kids always find the amazing places to hide things in plain sight. 🙂
Haha! I can so much relate to the post. My dear DD loves to put everything in the dustbin 🙂
I don’t have children and stuff still goes missing constantly. I guess I have no one to blame but myself haha
Looks like you are being kept really busy! Stopping by via the 2020AtoZ Master list! Hope to see you around this year as well!! 🙂
I could not be active for A2Z, but happy to have you here!
One of my children had the habit of taking items that belonged to someone else and hiding them under the bed or the pillow. The child’s response when asked if they knew where it was “The Monkey ate it”. We still use that phrase whenever something goes missing at our house.
Well, that’s the real scenario in my household nowadays, everything is taken away by a Bee! 😀
Glad that you dropped by.
Such a cute post and I could relate to it. My little one hides things behind curtains and sofas. The good part is she has a great memory and she would remember where she has hidden it. So if you ask her for things you cant find and she has anything to do with it, she honestly admits.
Kids are pure souls, they always tell the truth 🙂
Thanks for dropping by!
My Kids, are grown now… but 🙂
My eldest daughter used to hide gum wrappers between the headboard and the wall… When finally discovered she informed me they were for her “Projects” I never got a specific project out of her. They were moved to a ziplock bag though to avoid pests 🙂
Haha, kids have wild imagination and get a reasoning is next to impossible.
Thanks for dropping by! 🙂
Lol! This is so precious. I had heard of a toddler who loved to throw things from the balcony. Atleast your put them in the vase!
Well, my toddler has progressed to it this year and I had to get all bird net fitted. Kids are crazy!
Hahaha. That’s funny. Thank god someone came visiting! Cute story.
Thank you 🙂
